National Alliance for Retired Americans Endorses Kate Marshall for Her Leadership Fighting the Privatization of Medicare and Social Security
Nevada Seniors express their anger for Mark Amodei's plan to end their Medicare, dubbing him Calamity Amodei
Reno, NV - A group of 30 Nevada Seniors joined members of the national Alliance for Retired Americans as they endorsed Kate Marshall for Congress for her "leadership on issues such as fighting Social Security and Medicare privatization." Seniors attending the endorsement event dubbed Mark Amodei "Calamity Amodei" as they expressed their outrage for Amodei's plan to end Medicare and support for Marshall's pledge to protect Nevada seniors. Amodei has repeatedly spoken of his support for the Ryan budget plan to end Medicare even calling it "excellent."
"Your positions demonstrate a strong commitment to improve the quality of life for older Americans. Your leadership on issues such as fighting Social Security and Medicare privatization and strengthening the Social Security and Medicare systems exhibits that commitment," said Barbara Easterling, President of the Alliance for Retired Americans.
"I am thankful for this important endorsement and the Alliance for Retired Americans and I will work together to combat Mr. Amodei's reckless plan to turn over our Medicare to private insurance companies, give seniors vouchers and double their out of pocket costs," Marshall said. "My opponent wants to end Medicare, but I stand with Nevada seniors and will fight to protect Medicare and Social Security in Congress because you have paid into it all your lives and you have earned it, plain and simple."
