Kate Marshall for Congress Nears Quarter Million Dollar Mark for Campaign

Marshall raises $170,000 in last 24 days of second quarter

Reno, NV – As Kate Marshall continues to talk to Nevadans about her pledge to protect our Medicare and Social Security, her campaign announced today raising over $243,000 for the election and having over $200k in the bank at the end of the second quarter.  The strong grassroots support for Kate Marshall's campaign to create jobs and protect Nevadans' Medicare and Social Security continues to gain momentum.  Marshall raised $170,000 for the second quarter and grassroots contributions made up an astounding 85% of donations.

"I'm excited and energized by the overwhelming support Nevadans have shown my campaign," Kate Marshall said.  "This election is about Nevadans, and with 12.5% unemployment and Medicare and Social Security on the chopping block, Nevadans want someone who will fight for their families.  In Congress, I won't give in to the special interests or dole out billions of dollars in bailouts to Wall Street and big oil companies, but I will bring my proven record of even-handed financial management and dedication to fighting for Nevada's working families to Washington."

As State Treasurer Marshall has saved and also made the taxpayers millions of dollars, making money every quarter she has been in office navigating state finances through the toughest economic recession in nearly a century.  Marshall has created innovative programs to expand and bring jobs to Nevada, made higher education affordable and accessible for countless Nevada families and cleaned up Carson City.
