Las Vegas Sun - State Treasurer Kate Marshall jumps into U.S. House race

CARSON CITY – Kate Marshall, now in her second term as state treasurer, has jumped into the wide-open race for the open 2nd Congressional District seat to succeed Republican Dean Heller, who was named to the Senate. Marshall, a Democrat, will join at least five other candidates in the Sept. 13 special election.

"Nevadans deserve a voice in Congress that will fight for middle class families, and that's what I intend to do," she said Wednesday.

The district includes a small portion of Clark County and all of the remaining 16 counties. A Democrat has never been elected in that district. Read the full article here.
