When our state faced the doomsday scenario of cutting vital services and layoffs I took action. I identified $60 million for the State General Fund, which offset employee layoffs and cuts to vital services
When I ran for State Treasurer in 2006 I knew we could return more unclaimed property to its rightful owners. We successfully returned 30% of the unclaimed property, tripling the amount returned under the previous administration from $7.6 million in 2006 to over $25 million in 2009!
