Kate Marshall

All my life, I've worked hard and played by the rules. I expect the same from our state government. As your State Treasurer, I will be a responsible manager of our state's finances.

As a mother, I understand first-hand the need for a strong education system. I support the Millennium Scholarship, the prepaid tuition plan, and the College Savings plan. With strong education plans, we say to our children: grow here, learn here, start a business, and help us make Nevada a stronger community for all of us.

Kate

RACE FOR STATE TREASURER:
Candidates point to experience Marshall, DeStefano exchange criticism

By Sean Whaley, Review-Journal Capital Bureau
October 28, 2006

A personal bankruptcy in 1988 and an employment history that raises some questions about the depth of his financial experience suggest that DeStefano is not the right person to serve as treasurer, Marshall said.

Marshall, who worked for the U.S. Justice Department and created the antitrust office for the Nevada attorney general's office, also points to her own employment record as a significant qualification for the job of treasurer.
